If you’re studying nursing and you’re ready to specialise in Mental Health & Addiction nursing, there are two intake windows each year – mid year and end of year.

To apply for a funded New Entry to Specialist Practice (NESP) position, you need to apply via ACE (the Advanced Choice of Employment programme). ACE coordinates this process, on behalf of employers, for nursing jobs across New Zealand.

The New Entry to Specialist Practice (NESP) programme is for new graduate and experienced nurses wanting to start their career in mental health and addiction nursing. It combines theory, supported clinical experience, clinical preceptorship and supervision.

Nurses in the NESP programme develop their professional practice and specialist mental health and addiction nursing skills and receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Nursing.
